Password & account recovery
Email/password sign-in, forgot password, failed attempts, and recovering access when locked out.
These documents are available before and after sign-in. Sign in for full app access — in-app links open after you sign in.
Happy path
- On login, enter email + password.
- If forgotten, use reset email (admin can trigger) or switch to Google.
- Sign in successfully.

“Sign-in failed” with email/password
Why: Wrong password or account uses Google-only.
Try: Try Continue with Google. If you need password login, ask an admin to send a reset.
Success: Successful login to dashboard.
Too many failed attempts / rate limited
Why: Repeated wrong passwords.
Try: Wait 15 minutes, use Google sign-in, or reset password.
Success: Login succeeds without rate-limit message.
Reset email never arrives
Why: Spam filter, wrong email, or account is Google-only.
Try: Check spam/junk. Confirm the email matches your staff record. Use Google sign-in instead.
Success: Reset link received or Google login works.

- Verify identity (name, role, manager).
- Admin: confirm user in Team, resend invite or reset via Supabase dashboard.
- Recommend Google SSO to avoid password drift.

I forgot my password.
Use Google if linked, or contact an admin for a reset email.
Can I change my password myself?
If you use email/password, an admin can trigger a reset. Google users manage passwords through Google.
Edge cases
- Shared workstation left signed in (T2): Sign out from sidebar; use separate browser profiles on shared PCs.
